Inan Oener
Tokyo based poet, filmmaker, art curator and translator Inan Oener was born in Berlin in 1974. He gained a first class degree in Japanese Language and Literature at Ankara University Faculty of Letters in 1994. After graduating he moved to Japan in 1996 to further his studies on Japanese literature. He was awarded Monbusho Scholarship to do a Masters Degree at the University of Tokyo Graduate School of Arts and Sciences Department of Language and Information Sciences. Since he received his MA in Japanese text analysis, he has been actively translating modern poetry from his native Turkish to Japanese, and Japanese to Turkish. He is the director of award winning 'History after Fire' (2005, 9 min 59 sec, 16 mm, B&W, JP).

Professor of French Philosophy, Rikkyo University. Author of “Chinmoku Suru Saussure (Saussure’s Silence)”, “Gengo No Yami Wo Nukete (La Livre De Luciole)”, “Hideo Kobayashi”, “Aru Mono No Miwaku”, “Gengo to Arumono no koe”, and others. Art publications include “Cezanne- Painter Metier”, “The 20th Century of Painting”, “Theory: Sculpture Space”, and etc. Translation and annotation in “Saussure Dangiroku Chukai”, “Kioku to Sei”, and etc. Film-related titles include “Dialogue with Alexander Sokurov-Voice of Soul”, “Dream of Substance”, “Film-Image Sacrament”, and “The House of Anjiro Ozu” and etc.
Inuhiko Yomota
Professor of Motion Meiji Gakuen University. Also a well-known critic and reviewer for motion pictures and other art forms, spanning from Manga (comics) to classical literature. Author of “Bungakuteki Kioku, Kaihi to Kodei”, “Odysseus no Kikan, Kokoro wa Korogaru Ishi no Yoni”, and others. A great number of film-related publications include “Eigashi He No Shotai (Introductino to History of Motion Pictures)”, “Nihon Eiga no Radical na Ishi (The Radical Intent of Japanese Movies)”, “Eiga To Hyosho Fukanosei (Motion Pictures and The Impossibility of Representation)”, and “Asia no Naka no Nihon Eiga (Japanese Motion Pictures in Asia)”, “Nihon no Jyoyu (Japanese Actress)”, “Asia Eiga no Taishuteki Sozoryoku (Popular Imagination of Asian Film)”, and etc. Co-author of “Godard, Film, and History –A History of Film”.
Recently, the topic work such as "Tsukishima Story, again", "Lovely Theory" and "Teacher and I" was published. |
