Both application entry and acceptance work for Akira Kurosawa Memorial Short Film Competition 2008 were over on June 30. Thank you for the large number of applications. And we would like to express our gratitude to everybody who sent the masterpiece.

The number of entries is as follows:
Japan 362 entries
Overseas 170 entries
Total 532 entries

We will appreciate all application work, then, 40 – 50 works will be passed in the preliminary selection. And finally 20 works will be selected and nominated for final review. These 20 nominated works will be screened at the award ceremony, and each prize will be announced there.
40 – 50 works passed in the preliminary selection will be announced in around October or November.
20 nominated works will be announced in November.
The award ceremony will be held in December or January.
