Both application entry and acceptance work for Akira Kurosawa Memorial Short Film Competition 2008 were over on June 30. Thank you for the large number of applications. And we would like to express our gratitude to everybody who sent the masterpiece.

The number of entries is as follows:
Japan 362 entries
Overseas 170 entries
Total 532 entries

It is the preliminary examination progress inside now.

We announce the result of the preliminary examination in this page in the end of November. 
We choose 50 of them passing a preliminary by preliminary examination.

Furthermore, I push forward selection examination and, from 50 preliminary passage works, announce 20 nomination works by the end of December.

We hold the last selection party (Award) in Yurakucho morning sun hall on Sunday, February 15, 2009.
