Terms & Conditions
1. All rights pertaining to original authors must be cleared in advance.
2. All rights on music used in the film must be cleared in advance.
3. All rights on any other materials used in the film must be cleared in advance.
4. Films submitted for this competition must be original and unpublished works. Films already submitted to other competitions are not acceptable.
5. 50 works will be selected in the preliminary round (TBA early October 2007).
The following round will decide the 20 nominated works to advance to the Final Round (TBA late October 2007). Subsidiary rights for the nominated 20 works, such as theatrical release, secondary use, and other rights shall be retained by Akira Kurosawa Memorial Foundation. (Applicants will be contacted in advance for approval for any theatrical release or secondary use)
6. Award winning works will be edited into an omnibus film to be released in theaters and distributed as DVDs (available only in Japan).
7. Submitted works will not be returned. Make copies, if necessary.
Submitting duplicated copies are acceptable. Applicants nominated for final screening may resubmit master copies before the date of final screening.
8. Applicants nominated for the Final Round will be notified in late October 2007. Applicants who are not given notice before the end of October 2006 are considered not selected for the Final Round.
9. Approximately 20 works will be selected for the Final Round.
10. If the work is not in Japanese, please add Japanese or English subtitles.
