Overview of the Satellite Studio
The Akira Kurosawa Memorial Satellite Studio was established on June 2, 1999 in the commerce district of the City of Imari as a temporary facility prior to the official development of the Akira Kurosawa Memorial Museum. The Satellite Studio consists of 3 floors: The 1st floor is an extensive open space area; the 2nd floor presents preset exhibitions; the 3rd floor is an area for programmed exhibitions. The preset exhibition on the second floor displays historically valuable items of Akira Kurosawa such as actual scripts, costumes, stage props from various Kurosawa films, storyboards actually written by Akira Kurosawa himself, Kurosawafs handwritten original manuscripts, composition notebooks Kurosawa used in creating ideas for his films, as well as personal items, such as hats and glasses, used by Kurosawa. The programmed exhibition on the third floor displays various termed exhibitions in the vast theme of film.
